Ingredients
300gPlain flour
5gFresh yeastsubstitute with 1 teaspoon / 4g Baking powder
400mlMilk
150gEggs
60gButter
5mlVanilla extract
3 gSalt
5gLemon's zestoptional
10gOrange zestoptional
Instructions
Mix flour, yeast, milk, eggs, melted butter, vanilla extract, salt and optional lemon peel with orange peel. If yeast is used, let it sit in a 68°F – 81°F /20°C – 27°C corner of the kitchen until a couple of bubbles start to appear, about 10 - 15 minutes. If baking powder is used just carry on.
Heat the waffle maker up then ladle in the batter and smooth it out somewhat. Mind not to pour in too much as it will drip out as it expands.
Close the lid and wait for our favorite shade of brown to appear which should happen anywhere in the next 5 minutes depending on our waffle maker. Take the waffles out, repeat with the remaining batter or put it in the fridge for another day.
